Consumer-Driven Health Care
Reform |
Revitalization of
our health care system is critical. The third party payer system
(health insurance companies, not consumers, paying for health
care) is the root of the problem. The bureaucracy of our health
care undermines patient satisfaction and leads to an increase in
costs disproportionate to health care improvements. We must have
a system that is market-based and consumer-driven for true
reform to take place. We need initiatives to form a
consumer-driven health care system.
Health care reform initiatives I support include:
· Public awareness of advantages of an HSA
· Money in an HSA is yours to spend on
your health care, leading to wise spending
· An educated consumer will require:
· Full disclosure of health care costs
· Quality health care service
· Reduced waste and redundancies
· Increasing HSA use with tax-deductions
· Easing health insurance restrictions
· Remove costly insurance mandates
· Allow “a la carte” benefit choices
· Choose from carriers nation-wide
Knowledge is key to the revitalization of health care.
Consumer-driven reform has aspects that, when explained further,
will lead you to make better decisions about your health care
costs. A great book to read about health care reform is “The
Cure: How Capitalism Can Save American Health Care” by Dr. David
Gratzer.

Cutting Taxes and Wasteful
Spending: |
Affordability is the key to growth. This includes
attracting and retaining jobs and residents. From the retiree on
Social Security to the blooming entrepreneur, tax relief
is essential for the district to realize its full potential.
For years our state senator has claimed he makes wise decisions
regarding your money. Empty speeches and rhetoric aren’t enough.
I will be dollar diligent for you.
Government spends too much of your money. We need a responsible
budget that does not include accounting tricks or money-wasting
expenditures. Segregated funds should not be used to balance the
budget. The transportation fund should not raided to finance
general operating expenses and pork-barrel projects, which our
current state senator has
supported, but should be used on road repair. I believe in
transparency in government spending: where is your money being
spent? We need real relief from taxes and fees.
A study published in 2008 by the Tax Foundation ranked
Wisconsin’s tax system in comparison to all other states:
· 7th highest overall tax burden
· 11th highest property tax burden
· 12th highest income tax burden
· 8th highest gasoline tax burden
· 39th in state business tax climate
These rankings are unacceptable. My goal for
Wisconsin is a 50% reduction in our overall tax burden,
and a 33% improvement in our business tax climate in two years.
Cutting taxes and spending will bring affordability and growth
to residents and businesses once again. I want the area to
flourish for our children and grandchildren.

Concern For The Greater Part Of
The District: |
Concern for the greater part of the district Representation in
Madison is what the 22nd District is missing. For too many years
we have been held hostage by a state senator that refuses to
address the issues that concern the citizens of the district. I
will
listen to the residents of the district, and I will base my
votes on that majority, not special interests, partisan
politics, campaign donors and lobbyists.
Election reform is an issue that the vast majority of the
district supports. Our current state senator is against voter ID
because of special interests. I will represent you and bring
clean elections to
Wisconsin by voting in favor of voter ID.
I believe in property owner’s rights. Eminent domain has been
misused by local governments. It was written in the
U.S. Constitution for the good of the people, not
for increasing government coffers. Government should not be able
to take land away from citizens to resell to big corporations
for enormous profit.
The DNR protects our precious natural resources. This agency
needs some balance and consistency in decisions regarding
residents, businesses, towns, villages and cities. This reform
will assist in the conservation of
Wisconsin’s natural resources while protecting every
resident’s rights.
